Why Obedience? Be a Guide and Good Friend for Your Dog.

Our dogs are living in a human world with human rules that dogs cant comprehend. And they need to learn that some dog ways of dealing with things arent acceptable. Dogs cant comprehend that if they bite a human who barges in their house unannounced, they could be put down – that’s out of the realm of comprehension for dogs.

So we humans need to be a guide and a good friend to our dogs and teach them how to live in harmony with our human world. The greater your communication with your dog and the more influential you are over your dog’s behavior, the safer and happier your dog will be as you help it navigate our human world.

There are many ways to achieve this and many standards to judge a dog by, but ALL dogs will benefit from having a good friend and guide at their side who helps them navigate our human world and human rules. I find the more a dog will accept our human guidance and the more we trust our dogs, the more freedom they will have.
